Júlia Masnicová

Júlia Masnicová is an accordionist, singer and composer known for her natural musicality and passion bringing to her musical performances. She resonates with the statement, that the music should heal our souls, and she always wants to share with people the beautiful energy she feels during her performances. Currently, she combines her two passions, accordion and singing. In her repertoire you can find folk and ethno music from different countries, jazz, tango, bolero and her own compositions.

 

She was born in Slovakia and studied at the Conservatory in Žilina (Slovakia) and later she graduated at the Academy of Music in Cracow (Poland). During her studies she was a laureate in many international accordion competitions, and she performed in different countries as Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Austria. In 2016, she recorded a composition for Slovak Radio for the project „Štúdio Mladých”. She participated several times in the "Muzyka naszych czasów" project in Cracow, during which she premiered compositions by young composers. Júlia is also dedicated to composing and arranging. In 2019, she presented her composition "Perspektíva" at the "Hudební současnost" festival in Ostrava. During the pandemic, when the online world prevailed, Júlia participated in a series of concerts called "Weltmeister Wednesdays", organized by the well-known accordion brand Weltmeister. Júlia also presented her compositions online during the Chilean festival "FIA 2020".

In 2018 she participated in the popular singing competition Česko Slovenská SuperStár. Nowadays Júlia plays as a soloist or you can find her performing with various musicians and bands.
